Sentinel how does it work
The distributed approach is important for creating larger datasets so FDA can study rare adverse events or drugs used in small populations. It also requires a standardized data structure. This standardized data structure is the Sentinel Common Data Model. During this transformation, Data Partners remove or mask directly identifiable patient information. The standardized format enables them to execute routine querying tools , enabling FDA to conduct studies quickly, compared to writing new programs for each new study.
The Sentinel Distributed Database is the collection of harmonized datasets from many different Data Partners. These datasets are all in the Sentinel Common Data Model format. The data is from patient interactions in the United States healthcare system.
Records of those interactions are held by the patients' insurers and providers. For example, fictitious patient shown below is a male enrolled in a health plan. He's experienced several medical encounters between and One of the most important features of the Sentinel System is that can capture each healthcare encounter, diagnosis, and prescription for patients—no matter where they get their healthcare.
This comprehensive data is what makes it possible for FDA to study the side effects of drugs and other medical products. Sentinel has the ability to set up linkages and broaden the kinds of data available for use in the Sentinel System. These adult fleas will still be able to feed on your pet and cause itching and discomfort. Another drug, usually nitenpyram, will have to be used to kill the adult fleas. Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose or you have missed many doses, skip the missed ones and continue with the regular monthly schedule.
Do not give your pet two doses at once. Notify your veterinarian that you missed a dose. It is not safe to use in cats. Studies have shown that the Collie breed and other herding dog breeds may be more sensitive to elevated levels of Milbemycin and more likely to have adverse reactions including coma and death. If you are concerned, discuss the safety of Milbemycin with your veterinarian. Some forms of Milbemycin are flavored with pork extracts and may cause a food allergy in sensitive pets.
Pets with high levels of heartworms in their system may react to Milbemycin. Additional custom rules can be created based on queries. These can run on a scheduled interval. Incidents — Alerts that are generated based on Analytics rule sets.
An incident can contain multiple alerts. They allow for further investigation to determine if there were additional areas of exposure using the investigation graph. Incidents can be assigned to a specific individual to delegate the investigative tasks.
They allow for an orchestrated and automated response to alerts that are triggered via Analytics. Anything that you can do within a new or existing Logic App can also be extended to run based on an Azure Sentinel alert. A few notebooks are provided by Microsoft to illustrate their capabilities.
Hunting — Hunting allows for manual, proactive investigations into possible security threats based on the ingested data. Microsoft provided several built-in queries and custom queries can also be created. Once a query is created you can convert it into an analytic task to run on a schedule.
I hope that gives you a good idea of what Sentinel is all about and how to make the most of its capabilities. Remember I said this was part of our Cloud Clinic series? I encourage you to sign up for our remaining Cloud Clinic sessions.
